IEA President William Kresse made a 90-minute presentation before a packed room of election officials at the Annual Conference of the International Association of Government Officials in Kansas City, Missouri. His presentation, titled “Can Accountants Save Democracy?” discussed his research into the potential for training and credentialing professional accountants as Certified Election Auditors®. His research indicates that the use of independent Certified Election Auditors® in America’s elections will greatly enhance voter confidence in elections, as well as improve voter turnout.
