
Criteria for Becoming a Certified Election Auditor®
Certified Election Auditors® will be conducting numerous vital activities to improve confidence in elections, including election auditing and investigation services, namely, auditing, investigating and issuing formal opinions on reported election results, election system implementation and controls, ballot creation, voter registration, election judging, management of polling places and vote tabulation.
In order to ensure professional competency in carrying out these vital activities, those seeking the Certified Election Auditor® credential will be expected to show a high level of achievement. Evidence of such achievement may include:
- Holding at least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher education.
- Being a licensed or registered Certified Public Accountant in good standing.
- Holding other relevant professional certifications in good standing.
- Successfully completing the professional education courses required to take the Uniform Certified Election Auditor® Examination.
- Passing the Uniform Certified Election Auditor® Examination.
- Having the minimum education and experience based on a point system.
